Casio’s mysterious new AiX-powered synth could feature a vocoder too

Casio Teaser

Casio has fired out a second ultra-brief teaser for a new synth, which seems to feature a built-in vocoder.

The 19-second clip offers a brief view of the synthesizer, which appears to come in a red and black colourway, and is accompanied by a robotic voice singing: “Do you hear the music?” – hinting that vocoding talents will come included.

From the teaser, we also know that Casio plans to unveil the instrument later this month. “We’re announcing something incredible very soon,” the brand captioned the video. “Are you ready?”

See the teaser below:

Casio first teased the instrument at the tail end of 2021 with (another) brief video titled “Are You Ready?”, where it revealed that the synth would be powered by the brand’s AiX technology – found in its CT-X keyboards – which allow the reproduction of acoustic instruments such as guitars, bass, brass, string ensembles and more.

Aside from that, very little is known about the new Casio instrument. However, fans are getting excited, with many hoping for it to be an update to the brand’s CZ and VZ synth line.

“Looks like it’s a Casio CT-X meets MZ-X meets CZ type of thing,” wrote one YouTube user in the comments section of the latest teaser. “Lets hope for at least 64 notes of polyphony and a touch screen.”
